hey jupiter, where are you now,

Hey Jupiter

fade to red, by Tori Amos the video version from the Itunes store. Dakota version

Sometimes you wonder just what a song can mean and why it effects you the way it does, sometimes it is just, the melody, sometimes it is the heart and soul born on the wind, the sound of pain and separation.

I dont know for sure and I am not even sure why.

But tonight, I awoke in the middle of the night, hearing this song and somehow I knew it was for me.

Somehow it means more than what you can at first understand.

A separation of the day and night, something about this song pulls at my heart and my mind, something so sad yet, clear, I really thought I was ready, but somehow I knew it was not true.

Images of fire and sitting in the middle of your living room as the fire begins to heat.

It is the way I feel, because my house is on fire and I have to live in it.

and then the angels come to take away what will not stay.

What this song means to me is that I can begin to say good bye to the world, I can begin to say goodbye to me and thee.

Unspeakable women

Selected Short Stories Written by Italian Women During Fascism

by Pickering-Iazzi, Robin (Editor)

Despite the misogynist ideology of Italian Fascism and contrary to claims of most postwar literary historians, in the 1920s and 1930s, women authors enjoyed wide publication and critical recognition in Italy. These 16 stories, for example, all appeared first on the cultural pages of important Italian newspapers. Three are by the 1926 Nobel Prize winner for literature, Grazia Deledda. “Publishers Weekly” praised the volume for “show(ing) women’s experiences of an oppressive regime from the inside.”

Seven Stories of Christmas Love

by Buscaglia, Leo F, Ph.D.

Dr. Buscaglia shares seven holiday episodes from his life and tells how each event reinforced his belief in the value of caring and love. He reminds us that Christmas can last more than one day–that the spirit and magic of the season can thrive all the time. Peace, joy, and good will are not seasonal–they are life-sustaining, life-enhancing, hopeful words that should be spoken, sung, and practiced all the months of the year.

What do you believe?

Over the past few elections we have all seen a developing pattern of abuse by the media.

I use the term abuse because that is what is happening, many years ago this behavior was called yellow journalism.

Papers that distorted the truth to further an agenda were also called rag newspapers.

It is ironic at this point that we see this type of behavior by large news organizations, we see a complete bias in the new these days to the point that some reports are completely made up of false allegations and innuendo.

If you believe what you see and hear on some news organizations, you would believe that the election has already been decided and so there is no point in voting.

The truth is that this is going to be a close election, if you remove the false estimates and skewed poll results, you will have the truth, it is not decided and in fact there are many voters that still have not decided who they will vote for.

So the question is what do you believe?

If you believe that bias in the news is a good thing then you believe that there is no point in having an election, because these biased news companies are reporting that the election is already decided.

I ask you is that democratic?

If you believe in democracy, you should also believe in the truth.

The truth is that you cannot have democracy on one hand and attempt to bamboozle the american people with lies and blatant statements of yellow journalism.

The truth is you cannot lie to the american people and later believe that they will still trust you.

The truth is that socialism does not work and never will.

The truth is that many news media companies will falsely report victory early in the election process in an attempt to disrupt and discourage west coast voters.

The truth is that you cannot trust what the liberal new media tells you.

This is the truth, it is sad and it is Ironic.

No matter what you believe, get out and vote in the election tomorrow.

Polls only tell you what the person that took the poll actually believes, so polls are just worthless.

Get out and vote, no matter what the liberals say, that is the one thing they cannot take away from you.

The next bail out blunder car makers..

Car sales go way down…

Unless you are selling energy efficient vehicles with fewer options.

Cars made for the basic function which is to get from point A to point B with a minimum of fanfare.

So what is the problem with American made vehicles, causing sales to go down, down, down?

Simple, each year for some reason car makers seem to feel they have to come up with more and more options, computers, DVD screens, Hard drives, computer navigation, GPS, and the list goes on and on and on and on.

Perhaps the list needs to be adjusted, do American car makers believe that we all want more and more and more in a vehicle?

The truth is that it is more important for a vehicle to have the basics, to get to work, to get to that ball game, to get where you need to go.

More americans are opting for less instead of more.

Back in the 1970s you could order a car with the bare minimum of options.

Now everything is tied to the more more more philosophy.

The problem is that now, the American car companies are on the brink of blowing up and the first thing they will do is apply for some of that 700 billion so they can finance the next wave of over priced vehicles, that do everything but save money on fuel mileage.

If you lived in India, you could get an energy efficient, travel efficient, vehicle for less than $3000.00 you cant even buy a motorcycle for that in the USA.

So what to do, should we bail out the car companies, because from where I am sitting, the problems the car companies face is a direct result of poor management and bad decisions in keeping up in the market.

Other markets worldwide, are scaling back instead of trying to invent even more useless technology, to get the sale price up higher and higher, perhaps the US car makers should take a lesson from the world market which is seeing a huge increase in sales because of meeting the demands of the consumer, which is driven by the need for efficient fuel mileage and affordable transportation.

Just in case there are some who do not remember, 24 MPG is not a technological achievement, it is
an insult to the intelligence of the american car buyer.

I say no bail out for car makers…

Bailout, stock market rescue or rush to madness

The following post is made by a contributer and may not necessarily represent the opinion or thoughts of books4smarts.com, even so we thought it deserved an airing.

enjoy or disagree that is what makes us free.

With all the recent, insanity in the media, about how the world is going to end soon if the american people do no go into debt to the turn of billions and billions of dollars, this is just simply Bull Pucky.

The thought that without the help of the government the poor starving wall street billionaires will go hungry is just crazy.

On top of that it appears that many of the political authorities on capitol hill are more interested in how many special projects can be added into the already bloated bailout, which is now being called a rescue plan.

I have to ask do people really believe the sky is falling just because the media tells them the sky is falling.

I for one am tired of the media attempting to dictate to the american people what is real and what is memorex.

Over the course of the last several months you could set your clock on when the price of gas would be going up, why, it was the media going on live Television stating that prices would go up.

This was in direct contradiction to the actual price of crude oil declining.

What happened, the price went up because the media said the price would go up, why?

Well it goes back to the beginning of Television and cable, where most people thought that if it was on TV, it must be true.

The truth is that people are no longer as stupid as the media would prefer them to be.

Just remember, that from the min, that a barrel of oil is purchased, it takes three months for that barrel of oil to even get to the United States in the first place.

Add to that the time it takes to process that barrel of oil and you can add another two months to the equation, then add in the time it takes to distribute that barrel of oil and you are looking at around 5 to 7 months before that oil gets to the pump.

However just watch a the price go down or up on wall street and the price at the pump goes up and down.

It is impossible for the price of oil to change that quickly at the pump unless the american people are being manipulated by the media and the oil companies, along with a handful of other parties.

When you run the numbers on the price of gasoline in the US, statistically the price should be no more than $2.87 per gallon and that would go back six months.

So I ask you, who is really profiting here, the oil companies or foreign oil suppliers.

I believe the answer to that question is clear, more so when you look at the last quarterly reports of the largest oil companies in the US.

You know I would not mind paying more for fuel if there were a goal to be accomplished.

If there were a purpose involved like reducing the debt that this country owes so that the children of america dont wake up one day to find out that we no longer own our country.

Then I would say great I am doing my part, I suspect a lot of americans would feel the same way, but this is not what is happening.

What is happening is that a few of the richest people in the united states are becoming even more wealthy, and this cost is passed on to the backs of the american people.

I believe that this is shameful behavior and this is the same behavior that the rescue plan is going to bail out, and lets call a spade a spade here, this is a bail out of bad business, no one will ever profit from this garbage.

The American people are going to pay the cost and our children will pay for it and their children will pay for this mess for years to come.

I sure hope someone with a modicum of common sense gets elected because if this is what constitutes the hope of our country we are all in deep dodo.
